Childcare options in Munich

You are coming to Munich with small kids – are you looking for childcare arrangements? Here is an overview of different types of childcare:

Daycare centers

For children aged 9 weeks to 3 years: Focus on a smooth settling-in process and cooperation with parents.

”Kindergarten“

For children aged three until school starts. Emphasis on social skills and language development.

Houses for children

Mixed-age care, combining nursery, kindergarten, and after-school care. Continuous care from 9 weeks to age 12.

”Tagesmutter“/”Tagesvater“ (childcare at home)

Home-based care for up to 5 children: ideal for children under three due to a smaller, familiar setting.

For kids in grades 1-4. Focuses on friendships, independent learning, and homework support.
